Ever Had A Bad Day?

open bible with light radiating from it

Ever had a bad day? A bad week? A bad month? Or maybe you can’t even remember the last time things weren’t “bad” in your life.  This is so often the case among many Christians.  We accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, only to simply exist on earth as if we never had.

We let things like waking up late, a disobedient child, traffic on the way to work, spilled coffee, a lost ATM card, a flat tire, a co-worker’s nasty attitude, or a rude text message dictate how we feel for an entire day!  Thankfully, all those things typically don’t happen all in the same day.

However, we know how just one “event” can “set us off”.   Then that one event turns into us professing another “bad day”.   Whereas, none of these things are fun to experience, they don’t have to “ruin our lives”.  The issue with these “bad days” is that they tend to pile up and snowball our lives.  We constantly give up on today and just wait for tomorrow.

God did not intend for us as Christians to go through life held hostage by our circumstances. Click To Tweet

Regardless of what is going on in our lives, we have been given everything we need to be successful in our walk with Him and to enjoy life to the fullest in the process.  Peace, joy, strength, patience, endurance (just to name a few) are ours in Christ!

Yes, there are going to be tough times for everyone.  Sometimes it will be minor, like getting a paper cut, having a bad interview, or losing your favorite earrings.  Other times it will be major. Like getting bad results from a medical test, losing a job, or having your spouse decide they want a divorce.  Whatever challenges may come, you don’t have to let them dictate your outlook on life.  There are things you can do to start making your days better and to start enjoying your life more.

The Problem Is ….

The problem is, we accept and settle for mediocre lives.  I’m not talking about material possessions.  After all, some of the most miserable people are those that have tons of money, homes, cars, etc.  I’m talking about Christians settling for living lives far short of what God intended for us to have; living with constant defeat, fear, worry, stress, anger, bitterness, negativity, and lack of discipline that leads us to be miserable far too often.

It’s so frustrating living like that – trust me, I’ve been there!  Realizing that God can help me have better days, despite what is going on around me, was one of the most liberating revelations in my Christian life.

I had spent so many years depressed, discouraged, angry and disappointed.  It wasn’t until God showed me in His Word, that life isn’t really about what we want out of life, but rather about what He wants for us.  The funny part is, what He wants for us, is far better than anything we could plan for ourselves!

It’s when we start listening to Him, and allowing Him to direct our lives, that we start to barely even notice the circumstances around us. Then we start to enjoy our lives to the fullest – the way He intended us to.

The Goal is to Enjoy Life in Christ

God never intended for us to simply exist on earth.  In fact, this verse tells us that Jesus came so that we may have true life and enjoy it to the fullest!   There is no way this entails the misery that so many of us have allowed to become a part of our daily lives.

My goal with this blog is to help you learn how to enjoy the life that Jesus died for us to have, and to encourage you in the process.  Instead of letting “bad days” continue to ruin your life, let’s start taking proactive measures and utilize the tools God has already given us to begin to enjoy life the way He intended.

If you are sick and tired of being sick and tired about life, and looking for a simple solution to help improve your life in general, then join me.  Prayerfully we can be motivated and encouraged together, to not only embrace God’s Word but to utilize it the way God intended and enjoy better lives in the process!
