Welcome to In the Mirror of God!

ITMOG is a place for Christian women to learn how regularly looking into our spiritual mirror (the Bible) equips us to cultivate a deeper relationship with God, think biblically about everything, conquer everyday challenges, and truly enjoy life to the fullest, the way God intended.

Far too often, I engage with Christian women who are bogged down by the busyness and challenges of everyday life (work, kids, taking care of the home, education, etc.). These women then spend their little free time on social media, watching TV, and surfing the internet. 

In the process, they allow life to rob them of time with God.  Devotions, prayer, bible study, and church fellowship become things they do only when it’s convenient, as a last resort when things get tough, or when they really need something from God.  

As a result, their daily routines become a life of physical and mental exhaustion, in which they just go through the motions of daily survival.  Instead of conquering and enjoying life, life is conquering them.  

But God NEVER intended for us to live that way.

No matter where you are in your Christian walk right now and regardless of your marital status, age, race, job title, financial standing, educational background, or whether or not you have kids, as a Christian woman, you do NOT have to continue to let life kick your butt!  God has equipped us with so much in His Word that will help us not only conquer ALL the circumstances and challenges of life but will also help us to be free to enjoy life in the process!

If you truly desire dynamic change in all areas of your life and are willing to learn to make this one tweak – spending more time with God – then I promise that In the Mirror of God is the right place for you!

Outside of work and ministry, I’m a single mother of an incredible son, who, other than God, has been my main motivational factor in life.

I enjoy working out, reading, writing, drinking red wine, listening to podcasts and music of all genres, playing pool, trying out new restaurants, getting a massage, Folgers coffee, and traveling.

I’m nowhere near being the perfect Christian woman.  In fact, I will be fumbling along the way throughout my entire journey to heaven. But one thing I know for sure is that God is with me, and through His Word, He teaches me every day EXACTLY how to push through life and be victorious in my Christian living.  My mission is to challenge, encourage, and equip you to do the same.

How did ITMOG get started?

2012 was by far the absolute lowest and darkest point in my life.  It was the year that I literally lost everything (my home, car, job of 8 years, husband, and church).  Sadly, it was the one point in my life where I actually considered suicide.

One day, the Holy Spirit convicted me to pick up my Bible and start reading it again. Although it was only a verse or two to start, you have no idea how that was the one thing that saved my life—spiritually, mentally, and physically.  

A year later, in 2013, God began to place a huge burden on my heart to teach other women about the importance of His Word. I wanted to teach them how to read, learn, study, and even fall in love with the Word of God. I wanted to teach them that you cannot neglect God’s Word and expect to live a truly victorious Christian life.

By 2014, I started writing my thoughts and what God taught me in a journal. In 2016, I transferred several of those writings to my original blog, Deme in the Mirror. By the end of 2019, God redirected my focus to developing an online ministry via the blog and changing its name to In the Mirror of God.
